Todmorden

Todmorden is a market town, it has all the facilities you could want.  Lots of shops, pubs and restaurants, plus library, doctors, dentist, vets and more. It is a really lovely town with lots going on.

Where to eat and drink in Todmorden

Yakumama – 29 Rochdale Rd, Todmorden OL14 7LA.  Really fabulous food, all vegetarian and many dishes have the option to ‘veganise’ it. Service is always brilliant and I always leave with a full belly and a smile on my face.

The White Rabbit – 1 White Hart Fold, Todmorden OL14 7BD. T: 01706 817828 High quality, imaginative food. They offer tasting menus only. 5 0r 8 courses. Veggie and non veggie menus. The food here is really fabulous. I’ve been introduced to new flavour combinations and we do love to come here for a special occasion.

 

The Vedas – Fielden Square, Rochdale Road. OL14 7LD. T: 01706 814009 Good Indian restaurant. Lots of options on the menus if you have a don’t do spice/curry in your party.

Golden Lion – Fielden Square, Rochdale Road OL14 6LZ. T: 01706 816333 Fantastic pub, which does Thai food. Live music/DJ sets are a big part of the pub.

Where to shop in Todmorden

Baked – The Old Dairy, 2 Longfield Rd, Todmorden OL14 6LX T: 07395 402014 Artisan baker and pizza makers.  Check website for details as they are not open every day.

Calder Cheesehouse – 48 Burnley Rd, Todmorden OL14 5EY. T: 01706 839255  Cheese, beer, bread, wine and more.

Todmorden Market Hall. Open Mon – Sat (1/2 day on Tues)  Great variety of shops/stalls. Everything from hardware, craft supplies and cheese, to fresh veg, olives and meat.

Todmorden also has an outdoor market Weds to Sunday.  Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: General retail. Thursday: Second hand and craft. Lots of different stalls depending on day. If you are lucky Incredible Edible will be there with their fabulous veg and delicious cordials.

There are numerous other shops such as Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi and  B & M. Plus independent book, art, natural health and more.
